David Won
In 1996, I came to America as a missionary as God called me a prophet to the nations (Jer 1:5). After establishing my house church with Sarah Yang Won, I served high school students with 1:1 BS, joining the Chicago UBF orchestra, and high school ministry. After my wife and I had three sons (David, Peter and Paul) and my wife began her medical school, I began to serve as a full-time staff at the campuses of UIC, Harper, and Loyola. It was only by God’s grace, families and the church’s support that we could make disciples of Jesus and raise three sons. The 10 years of training as shepherds equipped us to join a pioneering chapter in Richmond VA for 5 years, raising disciples and attending a seminary as part time student, majoring in BS. Upon returning back to the Chicago UBF, I joined the UIC ministry and learned and worked together with several disciple-makers, which have resulted in raising several house churches and disciples. This year, I have been in my Sabbatical year to recover from health problems caused by two surgeries 6 years ago. Now, I am about to begin the second half of my life as a shepherd for God’s flock. May God continue to use my wife and me as shepherds for God’s flocks over the whole world.
